A "Normal" Day of Fishing

Your day starts with breakfast at 7 a.m. at the Main Lodge. Once breakfast is over, you pack up your fishing gear and head straight down in front of your cabin on the beach to meet your guide and boat. The mission of the morning fish is to catch all you can eat for shore lunch that day. (Let me tell you, that is not hard to do.) In 12 years we have never had to go hungry for fish.

Once noon arrives, your boat, along with other boats in your party, will pull up to a spot on the shoreline of Fishing Lake, where your guide and the other guides in your party will cook you a shore lunch that will make you want to eat for hours.

Let's Go Fishing!

Once shore lunch is over and everyone is back in their boats, the mission for the afternoon is to come back to the main lodge at the end of the fishing day with the biggest fish and the most braggin' rights. You should hear them in the lodge at night while playing cards, pool or shuffle board, "who caught more" or "who caught the biggest". Master Angler awards are presented to everyone catching a master fish.

Evening open fires on the beach are most enjoyable, a place to reminisce the days adventures.

If you'd like to change the scenery of Fishing Lake to Assinika Lake where we have boats and motors set up, you can fly in or walk in for a secluded day of fishing with your guide. Trophy Walleye and Northern Pike are the main species in Assinika. We will tailor your holiday requests to the best of our abilities to make your stay at Fishing Lake Lodge one you will remember for a lifetime.

Other Activities

Fishing and hunting are just some of the things Fishing Lake Lodge offers.

Families with children enjoy our 2,000 foot sand beach with water sports such as: swimming, water skiing, wave running, beach sports, etc.

Canoe trips on the Berens River, Pigeon River, Bloodvein River, or any other lake or river on the east side of Lake Winnipeg can easily be arranged.

If its just plain relaxing in the pristine wilderness, Fishing Lake Lodge is the place to stay.

Our lodge facility can offer all the accommodations, dining, and meeting room for any remote wilderness conference your company may require.
